What is real: the smelter location, all receptor coordinates and distances (Haversine-verified), the published emission factors (EPA, IPCC AR6), the cited science distances (2 / 10 / 30 km from Vike 1999, Brougham 2013, Al-Saadi 2019), SO₂ / PFC mass figures, and the Annual Wind Rose showing 25 years of actual wind data from Claremore Regional Airport (9.9 mi from Inola).
What is modeled: the annual hourly wind in the animation is a deterministic seeded climatology matched to Tulsa prevailing-wind statistics — not a real NOAA record. The animated smoke particles, deposition build-up, and "hours over schools" counter are driven by that synthetic wind. The lobed zones use the cited science distances as their downwind extent, deformed by the synthetic transport rose.
What this is not: a regulatory dispersion model. AERMOD or CALPUFF runs for the Inola site specifically would produce the binding numbers — this map shows the publicly defensible envelope.
